On Approval of Temporary ID card Form

 

Under Article 71(2) of the Law of Georgia on Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons, Article 14(11) of the Law of Georgia on the Procedure for Registering Citizens of Georgia and Aliens Residing in Georgia, for Issuing Identity (Residence) Cards and Passports of a Citizen of Georgia, and Article 5(2)(l) of the Organisational Statute of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia approved by Ordinance No 389 of the Government of Georgia of 30 December 2013 on Approval of the Organisational Statute of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, I hereby order:

1. The attached temporary ID card form shall be approved.

2. The Legal Entity under Public Law – the Public Service Development Agency operating within the system of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia shall be assigned to carry out organisational activities that are necessary for the production of a document defined in the first paragraph of this Order.

3. This Order shall enter into force upon its publication.

Temporary Identity Card Form

 

1. A temporary identity card (‘the card’) is made of 100+-10 gr/m² cotton paper, which contains exclusive watermarks with visible and invisible fibres.

2. The card is a two-page, bilingual (Georgian–English), 196X68 mm document containing 15 security elements; rear surface of the security paper is covered with substance that is transformed into strong glue at 90°C.  

3. A hologram is integrated in the card and partially covers the photo.

4. The card contains a unique number made with the paint that turns green under UV light, and is visible in red on the rear surface of the paper. The first page contains the word ‘Georgia’, the name of the card and the coat of arms of Georgia, which is contoured against the background. The background is the alternation of green and blue colours.

5. The form of the card has a protective covering (pouch) that weighs 150+-25 gr/m². The state coat of arms of Georgia is integrated on the protective cover in invisible paint, which is fully visible under ultraviolet light.

6. The card shall contain the following details:

a) name

b) surname

c) personal number

d) date of birth

e) place of birth

f) citizenship

g) status

h) photo

i) signature

j) address (only in Georgian)

k) name of the issuing authority

l) date of issue 

m) date of expiry 

n)  signature of the authorised person.

7. Details specified in points (a-g), (j-m) of paragraph 6, are printed during the card personalisation.

8. The form of the card shall feature the name of the printery that produced the form of the card and the name of the customer with initials, as well as registration number and individual serial number.

9. Sample individual number: No S 0000000.  The first character (series) is a combination of letters – ‘s, t, u, p’ (‘ს,ტ,უ,ფ’), and the following six numbers are presented within the range of 0000001 to 9999999 (for example 1234567), except for the following combinations 666XXXX X666XXX, XX666XX, XXX666X, XXXX666.
